Safeguarding customer data at FlexDesk is the top company priority. As part of our commitment to security, we're proud to announce that we recently obtained our SOC 2 Type 1 attestation report. Achieving this milestone demonstrates our dedication to the secure handling and processing of our clients' information.

What is SOC 2 & Why Does it Matter?

SOC 2, or Service Organization Control 2, is a critical framework established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). It involves an independent audit that assesses an organization's systems and processes to ensure they adequately protect client data. Obtaining a SOC 2 Type I report is pivotal as it demonstrates a company's commitment to maintaining high standards of data security and privacy.

Why Now?

At FlexDesk, we chose to get a SOC 2 report for two reasons. Firstly, we wanted to hold ourselves accountable to a rigorous security framework. Secondly, as a company that deals with financial data, office lease data, and employee attendance data globally, we hold ourselves to the highest of standards and we expect our customers to do the same of us. Achieving SOC 2 Type 1 compliance is not just a badge of honor; it represents a tangible commitment to the trust our customers place in us.

Process and Partners

We engaged Vanta to initiate the process. Vanta is a leader in the Trust Management space and helped us automate the collection of our audit evidence. As a bonus: they are a fellow Y Combinator company! Shortly thereafter, we partnered with Johanson Group as our audit firm to evaluate the controls in place. On March 2^nd – less than 4 weeks after initiating the process – we received our final report and official badge.

What's Next?

In line with our commitment to advancing our security measures, we are currently in the observation period aimed at achieving SOC 2 Type 2 compliance. We continue to partner with Johanson Group to guide us through this next phase of our security journey, furthering our dedication to delivering the highest level of trust and security to our clients.
